I bet they're experiencing record numbers of hits these days. I have only been checking the site intermittently, and then only for POTD's, but since the Big Announcemen(s), I've been hitting it a couple times daily.... Have you seen that QT VR scene yet? Pretty wild! Now all I have to do is figure out what I need to do that myself. As ide from Vue 4, of course... Does anyone know if I need to buy the latest QT in order to make or produce QT VR? Or does Vue do it by itself?

Ya know, I did see that animation and the entire thing screamed Mitch to me ;). It was pretty cool tho with the gazelle (one of bloodsongs?) drinking on one side and a crouched panther drinking on the other. And just the plant arrangement in general. I gotta know for sure who did that :) Laurie

It hadn't even occurred to me to wonder who did it, or whose models-- the whole time I was just thinking about how I can't wait to be able to do that! And, I do already have a Quick Time 4 Pro license, but I don't remember seeing anything about VR in there. But now I'm thinking, maybe Vue handles it all, and all that's required is to have the version of QT which can view (Vue?) it? I can't remember, but it seems to me that QT doesn't offer lifetime free upgrades. I think the current version is QT 5. Seems as though I looked into it and they wanted more money so I decided not to just yet...gonna have to look into this. I won't be the first to have a Vue 4 pic, I'm sure, but I'd like to at least be among the first to have a QT VR "movie". :)

You don't need to buy Quicktime, just download it. You can view QT VR without the "Pro" version, but may need to buy the pro version to make your own QT VR animations. But wait until Vue 4 comes out because they may include some of it in their new release, I suspect...bloodsong posted Thu, 24 May 2001 at 5:04 PM
what antelope and panther drinking where?? i wanna see it! from what i understand, vue exports quicktime movies itself. so MAKING them doesnt require anything extra.

Hi bloodsong, it's on the new e-on home page, under the link for the new features in Vue 4, about 2/3 of the weay down the list, you click on the only reference to QT VR-- the picture link looks like a QT screen. I assume you have to have at least the QT 4 plug-in to see it.
