I was reading a chapter in DUNE, and the thought occured to me to make something quick and dirty just to get the feel right... Took 10 minutes to drag, drop and tweak. 8 minutes to render. Might use this for a LightWave backdrop. Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful! Can I use it for my non-commerical project? Can you mail me the file? webmaster@devision4.com? Would be very nice

Looking real slick, I really liked the texture on the actual dunes/sand...Be careful of sandtrout!

Now all we need is Gurney Halleck and his baliset to sing us to sleep, when he's done with the day's smuggling ;-)

Maud Dib, the original prescient... I am inspired to do something dune'ish, but I think Ix is more like what Im after ;)

Sometimes the simple things in life are the best. I have some 10 minute bryce images in a frame at work and some very long drawn out projects there too. All the secretaries like the simple quick one because its a pretty sunset. You just never know what folks want until you try it. Good job, keep up the good work.

I'm taking requests right now... Is there a particular passage in any of the DUNE books that best decribes Ix for you? If so, I would be more then happy to render it for you. Or, if not... if you could discribe what Ix would look like to you, I could go from there. I ask this because quite often what one world "look" to one person may not "Look" the same to another. IE Ringworld. Hope to hear from you soon. Eric Renderking Fisk
