Hi All! I'm new to Poser and want to use it to create game models if possible. Is there any conversion path from a poser model with animation into ultimately an animated .x format? I realize Poser doesn't export to .x itself, but perhaps if other tools sat in the middle to do some conversions, maybe the end result wouldn't be too bad? In leiu of the animated features, how 'bout just into (non-animated) .x format? (or .md2 format?) thanks.

There is a tool that coms with the direct X sdk that converts from 3ds to x. Maybe that will help.

3D Exploration by Xdimension exports in .x format. Theoretically, should be able to export from poser to .obj, open in 3D Exploration and then export to .x. There is a free, fully featured 30 day trial version available on thier website. Good luck.

Is there any way to export poser animation ie. frame 1-30 along with the model and have that imported into either direct X or Open GL? Thanks. Deimos.

Don't forget that you will not be able to distribute the game if it contains default Poser or DAZ model geometry....even if it is contained in an .X file. Cheers

How much morphing or modifying is required before you COULD distribute a .x model which started out based on a Poser default?

By the terms of the legal statements, essentially, no amount of morphing or modification of figures included with Poser or from DAZ will be sufficient. You have to start with a new geometry entirely.
