Thanks Bsteph it has been a long time since I have seen sun never mind a sunset. They are promising us some sun for the weekend however.

Figures. That was our sunset yesterday. This morning I awoke to high winds, overcast sky and a little fog. Oh well. It was getting kinda hot. Bsteph

Well, now I know from another thread that Antoonio is from Finland--and where is this bsteph?? Our sunsets are often quite red here too, but not as red as the ones I fell in love with in New Mexico. Today, though, no sunrise, no sunset--rain, badly needed. Diane

Yeah I saw that too. I was shocked. I thought he was in the US with me and Alpha. I'm on the West Coast of the United States. Where are you located? I think there is another person on the west side of the US but I didn't think it was you. There's a lot of wind today so I'm wishing that it will blow enough dust to create another good sunset. The problem is to find a good place to photograph it! The last one was a little marred by a tree. Bsteph

California. But Northern California. I have attempted some while the sun is still visible. But the colors really don't appear until the sun is almost gone. Plus I'm shooting blind because it's too bright to focus. I think next time I'll have to get the mechanical camera. Wait a second. The first posted sunset picture was from a mechanical picture. Let me root around... Breaking dishes.. Moving furniture. Bsteph
