I have a couple of quick questions for those who've done this before. I've been learning Rhino using the trial version and feel ready to attempt some morphs. I've read Travler's tutorials on using Rhino for Poser Morphs and understand the conversion process. However, none of the tutorials deal specifically with clothing morphs and I have some questions related to that process that may be a little different than for character morphs. First, I was glad to see that the clothing set I want to do some morphs for did come with the individual .obj geometries for all the items, in this case it's the Voctoria Changing Fantasy Suit by Anton, brokered on DAZ3d. Can I do the morph on the individual object geometry, or do I have to import the entire figure and delete the parts I'm not working on, as I would do with Vicky herself? Anton has the suit set up so that you can select different versions of each part with a dial and I'm worried about how that may complicate the process if I load the entire figure. On the otherhand, I don't know whether just importing the .obj geometry for an individual part will result in the proper scale, orientation, etc... for the morph to apply properly. The second set of questions, once I understand how to correctly import the clothing to be morphed, relates to morphing clothing to fit a particular character. What I want to do is import the abdomenalplate.obj into Rhino and also import a version of vicky with the faerie full body morph set to 1.0, to use as a guide to create an abdomenalplate morph that will match that vicky morph. I guess the first question is how do I import an already morphed object into Rhino? Usually, I would start with the vicky full body geometry, unmorphed, to do vicky morphs. However, I want to import an already morphed object. Can I save the morphed character from within Poser as an .obj and succesfully import that into Rhino? Could I spawn a morph target of just one body part and use that to import into Rhino? (I hope all that makes sense. Also, I think the process would be similar for most modeling applications, so even if you use something other than Rhino, you may still be able to help answer this. :-) ) So, the big problem is how to properly import the clothing item itself to create the morph, can I use the individual .obj for a certain element of the clothing? Do I have to use the full figure geometry, deleting the elements not being morphed once in the 3D modeler? Then, the second problem is what is the best/proper way to import an already morphed body part. Can I properly export that part from with in Poser to use in the morph process? Can I just spawn a morph target and use that .obj? I have other questions that spawn from the above, but I'll fish for answers to these first. :-) What I hope to be able to do is spawn objects from Vicky where the body has been set to 1.0 for a particular full biody morph. Import the morphed vicky into Rhino to serve as a guide for the clothing morphs. Properly import the element of the clothing item to be morphed into the modeler along with the morphed body that will serve as the guide, adjust the part to better match the morphed body part, then properly save just the clothing morph target. Hopefully, having created a clothing part morph that matches 1.0 on a particular full body morph, I will then have a morph that will allow me to morph that clothing item to come closer to matching a particular setting of that Vicky body morph. Got it? ;-) Help...
