It sucks to lay out a scene... And try to render it to see how it looks, but not think to save it... C exceptions are lame. Here's one scene that will never quite make it into Sacred Truth... Frustration abounds...

Oh, yeah? Try rendering (to disk) a 6000 x whatever scene at 600 DPI in Bryce 4 with lots of transparency and reflection and only a P233, then after 48 hours straight it's only 17 percent done! I gave up and dropped it down to 2880. It's been going about 12 hours now and is already 18 percent. Newc

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I am setting a new world's record for "most frequent and comprehensive system mutilations for a PC owner" I recently had a wipe-out so bad, out of sudden maddness from the anticipation of the torturous path ahead, I formated 2 weeks of serious work, Knowing that only about half of it was backed-up. Hope that helps ;%^P

hey; dont look at me, i do 3 things, then save. 3 things, then save. 3 things, then save. (chant it with me, now!... ;) ) i dunno, tlaubach... with some image editing, you could get this capture to make a decent page. erase the silly circle. you can paste the figures over a background, if you need one.

As a photoshop user here, I'd say that's going to be hard...unless his screen capture is better than what we are viewing here rez wise. This image is obviously pre-anti-aliasing. There'd be a great deal of blurring and sharpening to be done..not to mention the time to erase that circle and make sure that the pixels are replaced and match perfectly. I'd say redo-ing it is definitely a must. Sad cause the poses look really awesome. I have to say just looking at the right hand near the sunglasses you can tell just how cool the fingers were posed! And don't get me started on those wonderful expressions! (Are you sure Ruth and gang aren't REAL girls you're basing this on? haha they look as if you'd had them pose for you to pose in poser!) Keep up the good work tlaubach! You have definitely developed your own style! Awesome... PAN~ :)

Never look back. Focus on destination. Nothing is too precious, it only serves to support further progress. ...easier said than done, I know. I just had to blow-up a 65k jpg into an 11mb psd, because the only version after my system crashed, was on the net. It would have been easier to start over, is my point,.. I guess. Ansonvbtch!

Hey Question? How did make those clog style shows? They are pretty cool! PAN~

tlaubach posted Fri, 17 September 1999 at 12:05 PM

Wow... Thanks for the horror stories guys! Perspective really does ease the pain... That, and misery loves company. Speaking of real life... I was at a club last week and I walked past this girl that look JUST LIKE RUTH... same hair.. same roundish face... cute nose.. Anyway.. It was weird... I wanted to talk to her, but could think of a line that didn't sound really dorky. So the shoes: They're the ultramorph shoes... (I think that's what they're called...) Get 'em from the Props Guild... They can be like 100 different shoes.

Ok I have NO idea what I was on here at work but did anyone actually READ my post? "How did make those clog style shows?" Hahaha.....I'm sorry but the hurricane must have left my head spinning! I meant How did YOU make those clog style SHOES. Glad to know someone knew what I meant! haha :) Hey tlaubach, I hear you loud and clear! You're Jen, looks just like my ex wife....Neeeyahhh! PAN~ vampires ARE scary!

PANdaRUS posted Fri, 17 September 1999 at 3:19 PM

Yezzzz :) I luvs Vampires...Mu-hahahahaha~ That's what the comic is about! It's awesome. Hey you know what would be cool tlaubach? Send them to NYC...there's a club out this way called the BANK...it's a vampire hangout. I was there once outta curiousity...whoa..never again..but the concept was cool. I'm more of a Club USA, Limelight (which happens to be a club inside what once WAS a church) and Palladium type myself. PAN~ I'll listen to anything but I won't enter the mosh pit.

Picture it: You always see campers (like on TV or in movies) telling spooky stories around a campfire (like the old Hook-handed serial killer story), but what about some computer "geeks" sitting around a glowing monitor in a dark room telling their worst stories (like the virus that even formatted their processor down to a 386)? It'd be great. Newc

YES! BRILLIANT! "I'm sorry Mr Compaq man...my pentium is broken" "but...this is a 386 inside a new case" "ummm it was that nasty melissa virus" Worth a try you think? SewerRat
