Ok......this is my first model that I have made, and the first time I'm uploading an image At Renderosity. Id'e love to hear your comments and suggestions please. I had a few problems with her hair, I know practise makes perfect..so I'll keep on trying!!:) Her name is Koukla (in greek which means Doll) thanks Poppy Poppy

When you say your first model, does that mean you made this from scratch? If so, Wow! Well done indeed. If however, you mean this is the first character you've made using morphs etc. Well, no less of a wow, because it still looks very nice indeed. :) Sorry, I'm just a bit confuzzled about what you did to achieve this.

Wow...she is gorgeous.

Do you really mean from scratch, ie you created the mesh? If so, what with? And are you going to share her with us?

Poppi posted Tue, 19 June 2001 at 5:47 PM

Yes, I would love to know what you used, also.

I know I'm showing my age here, but the name Koukla conjurs up the memory of an old children's puppet show called Kookla, Fran, and Olly. Great image, Poppy. Interesting lighting. This is your first try? I'm very impressed. I can barely model a simplistic stone railing, but a human figure, that's incredible! Melanie

Nice picture Poppy :) great job for your first upload to renderosity!! FYI, "model" means creating a 3d object. You know if you used poser, that female figure you posed is a 3d object. IF you model something, you create a 3d object like that. If you use the poser figures to create a picture which you then paint over in photoshop, etc, that's called digital painting or digital art, and it's not the same as modelling. Modelling is a form of digital art but it is more specific: it's about creating a 3d object which you use to create pictures. So, it's kinda like the difference between sculpture and oil painting. :) I don't know if you knew this already, I'm just clarifying it cos you said you're new :) If you actually meant you're new to "modelling" - just ignore my blabber ;) Not very long ago I as confused about the differences between modelling, morphing, posing, and props! :) See ya around!

Whatever you did to create this image it is still distinctive.....looks like some post was integral to the finished product.......very nice!!! Krel

Wow...you had me going, too. I feel proud when I can model a little prop that doesn't look too crappy to actually use. You did a nice job on your render, though. Pop...pop...Poppi!

I think the post work here is very very good, I like how the light seems to be coming from inside her (under her right ear?) it's a very good piece! Just thought I'd say that cos I forgot to do so in my first reply!!! Great to see more post workers around :) It's what interests me :) I'm still too new to the 3d side to get nice pictures from plain(no post-work) renders. So Poppy, you must have lots more paintings? I'm guessing by the quality of this piece you're only new to the 3d side, not painting. Can't wait to see more. :)
