The quantity and quality of "stuff" produced for this forum, by forum members is incredible (and GREATLY appreciated). Having said that wouldn't it be nice if there were a "Poser Stuff Installer". I believe that all the information necessary to install the appropriate files into the appropriate directories is in the .obj, cr2, etc. It would be nice if after downloading a zip and extracting the files I could run a utility that would automagically copy all the files to the correct directories. Since I keep multiple versions of Poser (I still haven't gotten rid of Poser 3 yet), this tool would come in very handy. What do you think? Any takers out there? Regards, Arthur

Hmm... sounds pretty simple to write... It would be a little harder for the geometries since they often need to go into folders that need to be created.

I would expect the logic would figure out that the directory needed to be created and would then ask to create it. You know the drill. "Do you want me to create this directory"

I kind of like doing things myself. Let some small program mess with your Poser files and you'll be reintalling very often. Pose On!!!! Xurge

This kind of utility would save oodles of time. I don't know about the rest of you, but as much as I like to do my own stuff manually on my system, I get tired of unzipping and moving when I could be rendering. And although Zygote and some others have pre-directory zips, I find they do NOT always work. 75% of the time, yes, other times you end up having to look for some file that your computer decided to throw into lala land. (Also depends "how" your poser is set up file-wise with characters and such). So, yes, I would like to see a Utility like this if possible. Radart.

Dear Mad, That's great. This may sound nebulous, but if you can make it as automatic and flexable as possible that would be great. Some recommendations, 1) When I select a new Poser thing to load (ie. character, prop, etc). It will automatically load as much possible. 2) it will always prompt for overwrites. 3) There will be an ini file for defaults where possible (ie. all textures go where when not specified?) 4) The ability to move a group of files from one copy of poser to another (for upgrades). Just some thoughts, Thanks.
