I'm trying to remap the p4nude male and female to a planar map. Which I accomplished. The problem is all the tutorials I've read state to save the remapped obj and texmap under a new name. They don't explain how you get what is now essentially a prop to become posable. Reading previous post on remapping state to repoint something ( i forget) using text editor. I have no idea what text editor is. So if someone could explain what it is and what I would have to do exactly to get the remapped nudes functioning I'll be most appreciative. Thanks.

I use Notepad for most of my text editing and others use different ones. The key is to save the file as plain text. After you remap the object and save it under a new name in the same folder as the original object. Then find the cr2 file for the character that uses the object, i.e. P4 nude female and open it in notepad. You will find at the top two references to the object file. You need to change the object to your new filename and then save it under a new in the same folder as the original cr2 file or one of the other character folders. Be careful not to just hit save and overwrite your original cr2 file. When you open Poser, you will find the shrugging man icon with the new name under it. Open it in Poser, then you can resave the character using the same name and Poser will create the rsr file with the thumbnail. Now the character will use your new texture map. I hope that explains it for you.

In the CR2 there are two references to the OBJ file, you must edit these to point to your new OBJ. CR2's on a PC are plain text, so any good text editor should do. You can find John Stalling's freeware PC CR2 editor on the PoserTECH list: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PoserTECH -JH.Manikin Flesh posted Sun, 24 June 2001 at 11:25 PM
Thanks to both of you.
