...Raven's coming! This is my character Raven who, unless any last minute problems arise, will be arriving at the Marketplace July 7th. And therin lies a tale. :-) Raven was originally a character from a series of short stroies I wrote with a friend. He was a mecrecenary, rough, tough and rather a bit worse for wear. I originally tried create a Poser character based on the P4 male to do illustrations for the stories over a year ago but I was never happy with the results. Then Michael came out and I thought - he'll make a great Raven! But I couldn't find a texture that worked. THey all looked too "clean" not weather-beaten and rough enough. SO I grabbed some photos of one of my male cousins and of one of my ex-boyfriends and threw together a quick and dirty texture. It had a lot of minor problesm at the seams and such but they didn't bother me because I could clean them up in post. Then I started usng him in my pictures - a lot (he's is my favorite bad boy) - and people started asking me where they could get the texture or asking me to make it available. SO back in March I decided to clean up the texture and make it available. Little did I know what a project I'd gotten myself into! The original quick and dirty texture turned out to be a real pain to clean up. The seams drove me crazy - especially the head/neck seams and trying to get the tonal values of the head texture and the body texture to match had me tearing my hair out. But thanks to a persistant group of people who kept asking when he would be finished and a bunch of wonderful beta testers I have FINALLY managed to get the textures finished. There are three textures - Base, scarred and scarred and tattooed. The one shown above is the scarred version. He also comes with 3 eye colors - blue, green and brown. And since I have been using him for quite a while I found I had a whole series of interesting poses for him that I could make available too. There are a number of excellent textures for MIchael out there (and I own quite a few of them) but I think there's a spot for Raven for folks who want a guy who is more than just a pretty face. :-) I am looking forward to seeing what people do with him. I've already been amazed - Trevor3000 turned my mercenary soldier into a ballet dancer! The moment I saw him, I was lost... And I haven't gotten bored of Raven yet! He oozes raw sexuality, LOL!
