Ok. I am at the end of my rope :) I switched to XP, and now Max isn't running. That is a real bummer. I think, hey, no problem. I'll go to Truespace - it has radiosity, that's good :) Does ANYONE have a reliable way to pull poser objects into Truespace that works every time and preserves all surcafe materials (trans, tex AND bump?) truePose doesn't do bump mapping at all. 3D explorer OBJ->COB looks promising but the textures don't come - it doesn't do the paths right and transparency doesn't work AT ALL with it. sigh

Can you send me your PZ3 (or small part thereof) with texture maps and I'll see if I can nail this one to the wall. I can appreciate how frustrating it can be.

Thanks :) I'll see if I can do that - maybe just a mapped primative... It ALMOST works if I do this: 1) Save as OBJ 2) Edit the OBJ in 3d explorer and go find the maps, the maps poser exports don;t seem to have paths associated. 3) Convert to COB BOT - transmapping and bump mapping don;t come in. In fact, it doesn;t look like TS even DOES transmapping. Odd.

You might be able to apply the textures and bump maps to your figure inside trueSpace with the material editor. TruePose is great, but you're right, I have to apply a grey scale image bump map afterwards.

You switched to XP (which isnt even out yet, but I'm sure you signed up for the beta) only to discover that your $3500 3D modelling program doesnt work. So you say, hey, what the heck, I'll go buy Truespace, truePose and 3D Explorer and let Max sit on the shelf! Does anyone else here have a hard time believing this? Hell, why dont you switch to Maya 4?
