Carrara keeps crashing on me. I keep getting an error 2 message. Basically, out of memory error. However, I have 620 megs of mem. Anyone else have this problem? I'm on a G4 466 running 9.1

I use Carrara V 1.1 on a G3/350 (OS 8.6) & G3400 OS (9.0.4) and have no problems with crashes. The only problem is still with the final render, a pop-up comes up at the end of the render & says "there was an error...". I just close the pop-up & everything is OK. I've seen some info on some of the threads that there may be an extension conflict with ColorPicker &/or ATM. Try turning them off & see what happens. Note, ColorPicker is an older system extension that may have been installed with some other software. It's not part of OS 9.1 as far I know.

if you assign at least 200 MB to carrara, it should be stable however, I don't know if it's stable in anything above OS 9.0.4

I run Carrara with 9.1 on a G4-450DP and it is very stable, heck the first release was even stable for me. I have 640MB real ram and I give carrara about 175 megs I believe. I am on my laptop so I can't tell. You may want to look at your system extensions too, you may have a conflict. If all else fails I would recommend a clean install of the system software and or format the HD and do a complete reinstall of everything. You can also try deleting some of your prefrence files. I would delete System, Finder, and the Carrara prefs, which are located in the Carrara folder. Also rebuild your desktop and zap your PRAM. Carrara should not crash very often, I have had it installed since it was first released early last year and have experienced only 2 crashes. They were related to my system and not Carrara. Now on my PC, well that is another story! Hope it helps, PAGZone
