I just can't get enough of IR--and find more ways to distort and play with illusion. Here's one done with evening light--not nearly as much 'flash' to the original IR (good strong daylight/sun is best for that really eerie white effect with the plants its seems). This is called 'false color' IR. The tall object is a 'bean tower'--I plant hyacinth beans for the hummers. It will become totally bean plant covered and the plants will have magenta flowers. They seem to grow about 6 inches a night LOL. The garden is my veg/herb garden. I still haven't gotten off my own acreage to find other subjects--maybe the weekend *S*.

I should probably mention--technically--that this is done with saturation and histogram adjustment, channel splitting and 2 photos, one IR and one in color.

Damn Diane... I was going to try that tomorrow. You beat me to the draw LOL. Great effect though :)

he, heee, heee. Fun, aren't they?!? I have another I did this morning that is totally different (and then one where I moved the camera just a tad, was combining and was getting this very eerie tad of a ghosting and figured out why). Also, I thought someone might be interested in the difference of the same subject--one taken in strong morning light and one taken in evening. Considerable difference. Probably set my white point a bit differently also. This is morning.

This is same subject but taken in evening--probably close to 8:30. Quite a bit of difference.

Weird! Clearly the first picture was taken on some planet in the next solar sytem. The two are sooooo different. It's like the light was sucked out of the plants. ( Yes I meant to type LIGHT! ) They arn't dark they are dull colorless and lifless. Can make some really good scarry pictures with them. Have you tried a portrait yet? Bsteph
