hi, im currently rendering an image in bryce, and after 24 hours it's only at 40%, is this uncommon?, or is there a way i could speed things up?...

Not truly uncommon, all depends on how big your file size is and how big (dimensions) you are rendering it to. Be sure and use the "render to disk" option, to bypass the video card having to do anything. That's about it. Bryce is a true raytracer, it takes longer. Agent Smith

Yepyep, Bryce takes forever to render, which is one of the reasons I got bryce 5 so I can hookup a few gig computers together to get over this bryce render "bug" as some would say. As for the video card thing, the only difference the video card play, is how fast the picture is refreshed on the screen when rendering, it has nothing to do with the rendering itself. Also, antialiasing is a big issue.. which it really shouldn't be, because it hardly makes a difference on the outcome of the picture, it just multiplies the rendering time by 400%.. grrr

I turn the antialiasing off, render approx 20% larger then the final image is to be & then reduce it. Seems to accomplish the same end result.
