I've posted two images for the July Vue Challenge. [Reading Room 2](http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=69708) and [Overlooker](http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=69710) The little image shown here is the first version of "Reading Room" that I originally made using Vue 2, a couple years ago. :)

Hey good works, Varian! Y'know, I almost wish that Vue 4 hadn't arrived in the middle of this month--- maybe I'd have finally learned about primitive modeling! WEll.... we still have over a week, so I'll get something going soon too. :)

Hey, that's looking good Varian... Nice texture on that furniture... Hopefully, I'll get to place my multi-image entry for this month's challenge soon...

The only thing that bugs me about modeling with primitives in Vue, is the screen clutter which can build up, so say I needed a boolean subtraction from a cylinder or something, or anything having to do with boolean cuts, I'd be far more likely to do it with Rhino, to avoid the excess in the model. So I stoipped worrying about it in Vue 3. I guess Vue 4 would make that easier since supposedly you can hide individual objects, but I haven't yet seen how to do that--only layers...

Athough the pic is small (web optimisation rule!) I like the books, trying myself to models some for the VC. Nice textures too. BTW, as I made some primitive objects for the challenge before changing my mind (more than one time, Im like this ;-), I'm left with some vob stuff that others people could find useful for their scene. Here's some pics, if anybody is interested, let me know and I'll send the .vob The first is an old rusted lock... I've alternate rusted/dusted metal mat too. Herv

My second "unused" object is a surfboard. I could have done it better methinks, but after consideration I redone it simpler and with Bolean Intersections mainly, as those allowed for easier selection hence texturing (I quickly applied bright colored map to illustrate this). In the end : 7 primitives, 5 boleans, only 1062 poly. Herv

Lookin' good, aspirantnemo! Shouldn't the surfboard be just a little flatter though? But I think your lock and latch looks very good--great materials too. :)

Really nice work, Aspirant! I'm sure there are folks who'd like to use the objects. Maybe you could add them to the Vue free stuff section? :) P.S. The bookcase and books seen in Reading Room were selected to be part of the extra models that come with Vue 4, so if you've got Vue 4, you've got the models. :)
