Why is it that the only hot female celebrity anyone ever does is Jolie. I mean she is absolutely gorgeous but I wish people would some others as well. Shes not the only gorgeous girl out there. What about Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyssa Milano, etc.

what about Briget Fonda?.... i think she is really GREAT

dlfurman posted Fri, 20 July 2001 at 3:10 PM

Well, Sarah Michelle Gellar as a model was done at least twice and if you look for Solo22 and FARA texture/images you may just see Alyssa Milano.

Who did Jodie Foster and Nikki Cox?

spudgrl posted Fri, 20 July 2001 at 7:41 PM

At the moment I cant remember. The jodi foster was here in the forum and niki is in the art gallery.

melanie posted Fri, 20 July 2001 at 7:46 PM

Someone did a Marilyn Monroe and Barbara Eden. Why are there hardly any male celebrities. I saw a Sean Connery, but that's about all. Melanie

spudgrl posted Fri, 20 July 2001 at 11:54 PM

yeah that sean connery is stunning. The likeness is spot on.

willf posted Fri, 20 July 2001 at 11:57 PM

I was the one working on the Nikki Cox model. Still working on it actually. I will try and finish it sometime and if I can ever figure out MAT files(it is based off V2) I will post it in freebies.

If I read all this it seams a lot of 3D clones are available, but where? And second, are any of them done for M3 or V3?

melanie posted Mon, 19 April 2004 at 6:07 PM

Someone also did a pretty good Tom Baker (Doctor Who) some time ago. Sarah Michelle Geller has been done to death as has Alyssa Milano. Frankly, I got a little tired of seeing them. If you look around, you'll find quite an array of Hollywood celebs done in Poser. I still want to see more male stars. I tried to do Tim Curry (the actor himself, not the character he played in Rocky Horror), back in the P3 days, which looked sort of good, but not perfect. Melanie

Nance posted Mon, 19 April 2004 at 7:13 PM

wow- 2001 flashback! ya'know, .... as this has obviously been a recurring topic, perhaps a thread, or page, with links to available "looks-like" figures might be interesting and kinda handy. nudge-nudge ([over-thinking now] Since some would be commercial and some free, and all at different, sometimes comepeting sites, it would probably have to be a thread somewhere with an easy-going TOS, rather than an official page at any of the major sites.)

duanemoody posted Thu, 22 April 2004 at 3:01 PM Online Now!

I strongly recommend against selling celebrity lookalikes. The relationship between fan art and the producers is a tenuous one and the quiet understanding is that you have tacit permission -- until you try to profit from it. Celebrities own their likenesses and the courts are unequivocal about this. Even Einstein, John Wayne and other dead celebs have estates which license use of their likenesses. Copyright/trademark violations are the kind of thing that sites which have explicit TOSes don't generally approve of (because they'll be threatened with takedowns).

peevee posted Thu, 22 April 2004 at 4:22 PM

Are all these clones here at Renderosity and if so, are they in the shop, gallery or free stuff?

AntoniaTiger posted Fri, 23 April 2004 at 2:55 PM

The legalities are complicated by potential trademark protection for movie characters. And also differences between countries. What may be legal in one place may be illegal in another. But never mind who "owns" a person's face. Who owns the photographs which you used as the base for the texture map? That's a copyright violation that would be pretty well universal. Sometimes, lawyers do seem to have no sense of fun, but considering what Poser figures can be used for, on this I have some sympathey with them.

Hey hey :) Posting a link to a site that have some celebrity clones is not a problem right? ^^ I'm surpriosed that there's a forum about copyright isuues, and no forum or rooms about celebrity clones :( Anyway i'd be glad to all the people that will post working links for celebrity morphs or complete characters (even if they are sold somewhere on renderosity or anywhere ^^), or links to commercial products ;) I don't want them for free, but if for some copyright law you want to put it on a site for free...i'll be more happy ^^ I can be more generous to the people that will help me and all the other people that search for celebrity poser stuff (about the 80% in this forum....right ?^^) '^_^ :D My other mail (in case that the mail on my renderosity account is full or inaccessible) is infomarnish@yahoo.it Thaaaanks
