Man, I'm going crazy here. Just made a new model, and in Poser it looks like I want, but I've tried to export in all formats, used the Hierarchy Editor to create a new figure, and even went by the directions on page 314 in the Poser 4 manual about Setting Surface Materials, but I can't make the texture come out correctly no matter what I do.

This is what I get when I try to make new figure, strangely enough, the preview looks correct...

But this is what happens in the actual studio, and I don't have the body parts like when I originally built the thing. I'm deep into this manual, and probably missing something very simple, but I just don't have it figured out yet, I would so appreciate somebody telling me what kind of stupid mistake I must be making.... Thanks

I hate to keep making this post so big, but I thought it might be more appropriate to include this too. I've gone down the list in the cr2 file and found this near the bottom which is the closest match to what they say on page 314 of the P4 manual, and of course many of you may recognize it. I've gone down through there making changes, but I'm still not hitting the right one. There must be a tutorial out there or something, but *#&$#^ this has me stumped....

You need to set materials for the different parts of the model. I think currently you have both the shaft and part of the head using a material "Preview" Best way is to open the model in OBJ format in a program called UVMapper (www.uvmapper.com) Read through the tutorial that comes with it. Also look through Roy's OBJ tutorials (link this page bottom right). Then all will be crystal clear
Well it was to me....

I've been there too so I know what you are going through.

Thanks, but I seem to remember already using the UV Mapper and it didn't seem to work there either, but I guess I can give it another try...
