I've been at this for several hours now and I KNOW I must be doing something wrong. I'm in the terrain editor, I start with a new terrain, go to the filter screen to choose my KPT plugin (I've tried all of them) but none of them show up. All I get is my plain black terrain. Please help!

When you enter the Terrain Editor, 1. click "New" 2. go to the "Filtering" Tab. 3. click the triangle in the lower right corner of the Filtering pallette 4. choose the filter you want. 5. you'll be in the filter itself, do whatever you want. 6. click the "OK" in or the "checkmark" in the filter when done. 6. when your back in Bryc'e Terrain editor, click "Apply" on the Filtering Tab and you will see the terrain you created with KPT. I hope this is of help to you. If you have any other questions about it, let me know. This should work for you though. Good Luck, kaom

Kaom - That's what I've been doing all night. All that I get though is the black square that you get when you hit "New". On any filter that I use, nothing shows up in the little preview screen. And clicking apply, in the hopes that something is invisible, doesn't help. I've had Bryce 4 since it came out and that's what I always came up with (also in the 2D lab) so that's why I couldn't understand what use the plugins were. Could there be something wrong with the programme itself?

Hmmmmm......... I don't know. It's possible that something has become unstable about Bryce, but it's hard to say. You could try uninstalling, then reinsatalling it. But I can't promise that will fix it. Maybe someone else in here will have a better answer than me. Sorry I can't be of any more help. Good luck, I hope you get it working. kaom

dont select new just use it on the terrain that it automatically loads...that works for me. If you select new first there is nothing for the filter to edit.

You have to have a terrain loaded. You can just put up an even colored terrain with the brush if you like or use one of the existing terrains. Works just fine over one of the many fractal terrains.

Also make sure that the opacity in the filter is turned up, if it is all the way down it will apply the filter as 100% transparent and you will not see any effect (that's from personal experience lol)

I'm finally getting some results. Wadus, you had the solution there. It was selecting new that was producing nada. I'll play around and then pop up what I come up with. Thanks everyone. s
