Hi all, whats the best way to change materials on say Vue Trees, or, alternatively, use that tree material on other objects? I'm not sure how to manipulate them... -Brian

Have a look at my plant tutorials. They show you exactly how to do this.

Hey Guitta, Have you had any troubles with the way your vegetation materials render in Vue4? I haven't been able to get rid of the outline that shows up around each leaf whenever I use a custom material that I've created. E-On says that I need to turn off the anti-aliasing on the transparency map, but that doesn't seem to help. Any ideas? -SMT

I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

Smallspace, I'm not sure I understand. What do you mean with custom material ? A bitmap color pic and the corresponding tranparency bitmap ? Would you mind to put here one sample file and its transparency map, so that I can get it into my 'puter and try ? I don't have this problem with my material, created in Vue 3 or 4. Guitta

Sure, Guitta, but it will have to wait until I get home tonight, some time around 6 p.m. Pacific time. -SMT

Steve, I have found that if the actual trans map is anti aliasedblurred anytime during it's production then it will show a white border....like you, I found that turning off anti aliasing in the material editor did not make much differance. Open the transmap in your paint program and have a look at the edge between black and white at a high zoom...if you see any greys, that is your problem. Just convert the image to two colours (black and white) and that should sort it out. Cheers
