I hate to clutter this board with a Photoshop question, but went to that forum and it seems nobody has posted anything since 7/10. Can anyone tell me how to flip a LAYER (not the whole image) in Photoshop? It's easy in PSP, but I started this project in PS and now I'm stuck. Thanks in advance.

My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

Just post in that forum, we'll read it. Try this: Make sure the layer you want to flip is the active layer. Select All Edit ... Transform ... Flip Horizontal (or Flip Vertical)

Make sure the layer you want to flip is active in the layer palette (highlighted). Click on the Edit menu. Highlight "Transform," a submenu will open. At the bottom of that menu are "Flip Horizontal" and "Flip Vertical." That's for Pshop 6 and I believe it's accurate for 5 and 5.5. The commands may be in a different place in versions 3 and 4.

It would appear I and doozy were typing at the same time.

Thanks guys, I knew it was probably simple. I always forget to select all before I attempt anything. Boy, what a ditz I can be. :-)

huh, in 'shop 4, the layer transformations are under the 'layer' menu. they got rid of that?

No. They just moved 'em around a little.
