Uhm, just guessing, but it looks like your plane is sitting on the default Poser plane, and you're looking up at it from underneath, sorta like being underground and looking at something at surface level. Get your plane in the air (check it against the ground level in either the right or left view cameras), and that weird little mass should disappear.

look at the wings at the black splotches all over the underside of the green material on the plane itself. thats the problem

How does it actualy render? Are the splotches still there in a final render? There may be a "normals" problem. Try a couple of different save options in UVMapper, and try the "Fix" seams also in UVM. A weld verticies might also help. I've had this problem in other programs, and in older versions of Poser. And it was due to normals screwing up and over smoothing or under smoothing. It just may be the obj file itself. Though I've recently run into problems with PPP not reading objs correctly. Let's hope Poser 5 comes out soon and fixes many bugs in the recent PPP. James

I dont have ppp but just a thought. When using UV mapper if you change the objects map& use the new template on your model. You need to save the object as well as the new map.As it now contains the new cords. What you have to do as well is to change the rsr file in the objects qeometries folder of Poser. The way I do this is to delete the file & when you load the model in from the respective libraries folder of poser it creates a new rsr file. It will take longer to load but it will now have the new cords & your map should be ok. If you are unhappy with deleting the rsr file, save it under a different name. Also poser will need to be closed when deleting the rsr otherwise it won
t let you delete the file. I might be on the wrong thread but having been on this road myself. I know what its like. Also I found it helpfull to view the object in a 3D viewer. I use 3D Explorer. I
ve found that if it displays ok then I don`t have a problem with it in Poser.

You mapped the plane in UVMapper right? If so, open your texture map and, try painting over the black lines on your textrue map and see if that helps. My friend had a similiar problem when he didn't erase the black lines on the texture map. Also, It looks like you rendered this in the "Cartoon" setting. You might also want to try checking your current view settings.

Look at the hot key list in UVmapper. You'll want to try the one that checks for "degenerate facets". The OBJ is saved to the folder with the CR2 when you add figures to the library in the PPP, grab it from there. (This doesn't apply to props)

Sure looks like a Ground Plane shadow to me, and the camera is below ground level. Just un-check the ground plane in Display/Guides drop down menu.
