I wanted to make it clearer that the flame is not part of the character. I only used it for the display render.

The wax candles look right, but the metal texture looks more like smeary rock than metal. (It reminds me of 3ds-ugh!) Metal would be smoother in color, with sharp highlight. Carolly

It's supposed to be tarnished metal, but that's not important. I just made some generic blocks of texture that took me 30 seconds to create. It's not mapped to the object. It looked better than the flat surfaces of the untextured object. If I decide to give the object away for free then whoever uses it can create their own textures.

Nice job on the model - I especially like the wick - excellent touch! As for the base, it looks like the mapping is either 1)planar or 2)cylindrical with an incorrectly proportioned map. You could get a lot more detail and better control of the pseudo "reflection" if you make cylindrical mapping with about a 3:1 aspect ratio (width to height). It will eliminate the smearing blotchy effect which is probably caused by distortion of the map.

I kinda liked the texture. Darken it a bit and it would look old, semi-stained to me. The candles look realistically waxy to me. Good job.

I see what you mean. It depends on how you look at it. The current texture suggests a porcelain base to me, and if I look at it that way, it looks fine. But if I look at thinking it to be metallic, it isn't as convincing.
