I am about to purchase it and just was wondering I have heard grumbles.

The new content CD is less than spectacular. But the program itself is worth the upgrade($99 at COMPUSA). But if youhave Bryce4, your content CD from that will work with 5. They didn't provide too many new materials, kaom

I agree with Koam, the cd was a dissappointment very little new stuff. The program is worth the upgrade though, lots of nice new features and so far for me very stable.

Opinions make very poor facts but I think that's the best you're going to get when trying to decide whether to go for the upgrade or not. I happen to agree with the two posts above. The Bryce 5 is worth the $99 CompUSA price. Trees, metaballs, and a way to render higher quality images: good. As for more/different material presets: no, not many. But the dials are still there ready to be twisted into a million different permutations of your own design. Not bad,eh?
