Hi all. I going to like B5 but I cant figure this tree stuff out. When I create a tree with the Tree Designer they look cheap. The Textures are look like plastic. What did I do wrong? Any hints or secrets how to create realistic Trees? Or are just the standard tree textures shit? if yes, where can I find good ones? (freestuff please, marlin textures are too expensive for me)

Actually the preset bark and leaf textures are not to bad. Just have to play with them a bit. Also if you select red oak leaf shape it has an leaf image mapped to it. Looks pretty good.

I'm haveing tons of problems with the tree designer. If I touch the right parameter at the wrong time I get a hang up and finally an out of memory message. I have plenty of memory so this shouldn't happen. I'm also getting strange results in the branch thickness. And I was hoping that selecting .. well let's say for example ...a "fir" tress shape and corresponding "leaf" setting that it would change all the parameters and then you could go on from there. But this is not the case. You still have to struggle with parameter settings to get the tree to look anything like the tree you hoped the preset was going to give you. I think the Tree designer is a great boon to the program, but I'm not so sure that they thought it all out in this release. Again I have to say that I'm glad they put this in, but I think it will take some time before I get the hang of it. James
