Beeu-ti-full, the color is true, and the detail of the wing and fuzz is picked up. Mostly these creatures get angry with my presence. I would guess that you were not the subject of their interest. Micro nature pictures show a different view of the world. There are several variations available just from this exposure.

Thanks all... Just as an FYI, to get this shot I was sitting down next to the hive. The lens (55MM micro-Nikor) was about 4" to 6" from the bees. What I found was that if you start at a distance of six feet or so and slowly work your way in the bees realize that you are not a threat and just keep doing their thing. The other thing to be aware of, is to not block their flight path in and out of the hive. Phrank... Glad you dropped in. I like what you did and look forward to seeing some of your work here :)
