Ok. First I admit I am new to Poser. I am very curious is you all do that gorgeous skin shading in Poser or after rendering... The skin they give you is ugly for the most part...

Uh... pre rendering most of us have a skin texture that we use that is better then the default one. Spike

Why don't you head on to HappyWorldLand and the Props Guild (look for Anton Kiesiel's textures) and you will find many skin textures. Unfortunately all for women.

See, I went there. Are we allowed to use those and still call it out design once the entire image is complete. Like say everything in the image is mine except the skin, is it my image still?? I feel like I'm 7 again or in high school and the teacher is taking the paint brush out of my hand and fixing something on my canvas. I used to hate that. At that point, it was fixed in my head that it was no longer my art. It was her's or his, even if they only painted 1 dot on my canvas! FLASHBACK - SORRY .....

A good way to start though is by taking a look at how others have made their textures. You can usually learn a lot through observation. I see what you mean about wanting it to be 100% yours. Don't worry though, you'll get the hang of it soon, it's only intimidating in the beginning.
