OK, I am one of those "I would never sell something at the marketplace as long as I can't guarantee that it will be worth its price."-Guys. Now I am having a small problem here: I don't want to sell, but I want to donate something for Verdie. Now I have a collection of about 150 different shaders for Vue 4 as well as about 30 atmosphere-presets. I thoug of selling this package for about 5,- Dollars. I am feeling really bad about this. Is this price acceptable? Should I add some meshes to the package? Joerg Weber

Hi Joerg, It's natural, I think, to feel "guilty" about wanting to make money, especially about something you enjoy doing. To me, the question comes down to whether it's worth the purchase price. Awhile back (waaay back) Metacreations made a Bryce 2 Accessory Kit with tons of materials, and it was worth it. For $5 or $10 bucks, sure, I'd buy yours! Brian

Five bucks is probably a bargain. Go for it.

heyas; joerg, five dollars is too low for all that. ten would be good. i know you dont want to gouge people (you wouldnt be), but you shouldnt undersell the artists who are trying to make a living. use a reasonable price, not a cheapo price. :)

150 materials plus 30 atmospheres? I agree with Bloodsong, that's at least a $10 product. :)

I'd agree to what's been said, especially considering the cause. :) As for underselling, is there even anyone selling Vue stuff anywhere? Other than those pre-fab VOB animal models and the plant CD?

I don't think anyone is already selling Vue stuff here so there will be no one to undersell. I just want to make sure, that the final offer is worth it's price. I will sell those materials and a few more atmospheres for 10 dollars. All I need to know now, is how to join this "Verdie-Donation" system... I will upload a few free materials and objects next week to make up for this one... I just hate selling things to other hobbyists. Joerg

Michael Wagner has Vue scenes for sale at 3D Commune, and I think in the Marketplace here, too. With those plus the models Mike mentioned which offer VOB format, I don't know of anything else Vue-specific.

Joerg, don't feel guilty about selling. You have an excellent reason to sell (contribution to Verdie's medical expenses) and when you sell something in the marketplace, you are selling it for both personal and commercial use, which is the primary reason why I buy things here - so that I can use them in my commercial images and projects without any hassles. What you describe (150 shaders, 30 atmospheres) is worth way more than $5, or even $10 for that matter. So please, don't feel guilty. You would actually be doing some of us a favor AND would be helping a wonderful person (Verdie) in the bargain. Kate

HM... OK. Does anyone know, how this Donation-Thibg is done? Does it exist here on Renderosity or only on the 3D-Commune? And how does it work? Joerg

I don't know anything about it. You'd have to ask the store admins. As far as I know, there is no donation system in place, but who knows, you could start a new trend. :) There's a Store Contact forum under Admin Forums,or you might want to send a message to JKeller, JennyK, ClintH, JeffH, or even tammymc, asking about this.
