Happy Friday to everyone, I've been eyeing two products at Daz 3d and was wondering if anyone had a review/impressions of them. The first is the 3d world kit. I currently use Bryce, how does this kit compare to it in terms of ease of use, flexibility, and render quality? It looks like a cool product for doing outdoor scenes, but I really don't know enough about it to make a purchase. The second product is the Micheal changing armor. What is the general impression of this piece, is it worth the 70 dollars (when you add in the texture maps)? Thanks for your help JBSettle

The armor I would say get, although i have not used it (But I bought it) mike simply has few clothing options and the armor is very versitile form the different ways it can be used. i didn't get the texturs since i planed to make them or use Daio's textures ( Cheaper and cooloer looking)

Bought the 3D worlds. Dead easy to use. Quite well-written manual. MUCH more limited than Bryce, but capable of some exiting stuff, AND it works entirely within Poser, so no real learning curve (45 min playing with tutorial, & I was up & running) Overall NICE product! On the Armor, I agree with lalverson, Buy the armor, go for the Daio textures.

PS, on the 3D Worlds, I've seen it at a couple sites, but DAZ was having a special when I bought it, may still be going on.

Thanks for the feedback lalverson and leather-guy. I went ahead and picked up the core kit last night. I'm actually pretty impressed with it, and will have some good uses for it. I'm going to try and work with it and see if I can use it for an urban environment. It would be extremely beneficial to be able to do all my rendering in poser. Currently I have to export to an obj file and import into Bryce. As Micheal and Victoria become more complex so does the import process. I will check out Daio's textures for the armor. I haven't bought it yet, but isn't the 3D World Kit basiclly a prop for Poser to give it a real background? I'm planning on buying it sometime in the near future, but I think maybe JBSettle might have thought it was a program like Bryce or World Construction Set or something. I may be wrong, but I think it's just a prop kit for the Poser environment. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Melanie

Melanie, It is pretty much what I thought it was going to be. In a stict sense it is a prop kit. But more loosly it does transform Poser into a program that can render final scenes. Which for outdoor scenes is much nicer than having to export poser models into Bryce. I'm still trying to determine if the 3d world kit model will work for city streets, playing around with that concept this morning. We shall see. Thanks JB

You want reviews? I got reviews! In fact, I'm doing an official write-up on the 3d Worlds Kit, which should be posted on my site in the next week. I also own and use the Michael Changing Fantasy Suit (and textures). First, the 3d Worlds Kit. If you're into making outdoor scenes, and would like to keep as much work inside Poser as you can, this package is a *must*. You've already got the Core Kit, so you're experiencing what i mean. The addon kits are also *well* worth the investment. As for Michael's Changing Fantasy Suit, I can't praise it enough. It's versatility and ease of use are incredible, and just the *included* textures are enough to keep you mixing and matching for weeks. Add and additional texture packs, and you've got wardrobe for *miles*...Anton continually outdoes himself, and the MCFS is certainly no exception. I'm hoping I can talk him into some reviews/interviews in the near future. ;-) Hope that helps you in your decision. Take care, and happy rendering!
