I'm trying to make a scene for Carrara's challenge this month. I want to do do a shot of the Hollywood sign in LA. I want to make the scene as accurate as I can. What I need to know is there a free topo map of the area that shows the signs exact placement? I know that the sign is atop Mt.Lee in Griffith Park. I have DEM's of the area but I don't know which one it is and where on the Dem the sign should be placed. Are there any GIS experts out there that could help me. I've checked the GIS DATADEPOT and they don't appear to have what I need. Any help would be a great service to me. Thanks, kaom

Maybe this link might help. It gives some viewing locations and has a map link.kaom posted Tue, 14 August 2001 at 2:17 AM
Thanks theFOG, I had been to that site the other day looking for pictures of the sign. But I didn't notice the map, I think it may help me, but I've still got a lot to figure out with this project. I'm not quite sure which DEM Quad it is though, I'm going to have to go to a bookstore most likely and look at a Topo Atlas of California, I can't fond it for free on the net. The one I found at the Data Depot is unreadable and it doesn't really help me. Thanks for the help. kaom
