Sorry... I didn't know that it would be illegal! But: why illegal? Everybody can download Poser models in the Free Stuff Area at this page... Is it only illegal when it is a Bryce-ready file you need no Poser? Technician

yes its illegal that way also, POser files can be redistributed via .pz3, or .cr2, distributing the actual object file is illegal. Even if its loaded into Bryce and saved as a bryce preset file. Ken

A bryce preset file means a *.obj File importable in Bryce - or a *.br3, *.br4 file?

Poser figures are only allowed to be distributed amongst licensed users of the Poser program. It is against the license agreement, and breaks copyright law, to export the figures from Poser and send the models (obj, 3ds, dxf, etc)to anyone who doesn't own Poser. The Poser figures you see being shared here are in PZ3 or CR2 format, which are exclusive to Poser. Only Poser users can open those files, so it is OK to distribute them. If you want to use any Poser figures in Bryce, you'll have to purchase a copy of Poser first. A Bryce preset file is a file format exclusive to Bryce. In the case of objects, the format is *.obp .

Correction: Thinking about it, the latest version Vue d'Esprit can open PZ3 files, so I guess distribution of those should be limited now? I haven't seen anything written about that, and it really falls outside of this forum.

PJF, surely a .pz3 file is just a text file containing directions to geometry files (and referenced textures etc) contained in the runtime folder so therefore would require Poser installed to open them. Plus, Vue asks for the whereabouts of Poser.exe anyway.
