Hi folks! I would like to post an invitation for the folks who were tossing around the possibility of getting the San Francisco area people together. Every year, on the Saturday closest to my birthday, (which is a week from today, thank you) I host an open house BBQ for friends and family. It's an informal gathering, no specific time limits (come when you can, leave when you like) and I provide the entertainment and food. :D This year the annual BBQ will be held on Saturday, August 18. Anyone in the area is welcome to attend, come as you are (and don't bring presents, it's not that kind of birthday party). Anyone arriving BEFORE Noon will be put to work in the kitchen or yard, so be warned. :) If you'd like to attend, just drop me an e-mail and I'll send directions. Maybe if we get enough of us together we can figure out the details for regular gatherings for the local poser users. Kate Shrew@shrewslair.com

hmmmmmmm - a little bit far from Germany ... but it's a good idea :o) Count me in sometime during the next 10 years :o) (but not this year)

I'll be there - mentally - so, no need to send directions. Like Schlabber said, a bit far from here (Belgium that is), but I'd like to participate (mentally) and have a beer on you (my birthday present). Hope, you'll enjoy it.

Oh man, ookami, and I'm going to be out of town on Labor Day week (we're going to Utah to see hubby's Kids). Rotten timing or what? :)

I'm in Richmond, Spike. And if you have to work, it's a shame, but I'll be having other get togethers.

Now THAT would be fun, Spike. Maybe if we can get enough people together this time we can plan something like that for a more convenient time. A Poser Potluck. g

Hey Kate, That sounds great! I'm in Sacramento and would love to come. Can't make it this Saturday. Taking my granddaughter out Saturday in Oakland. I think to the circus, my son said. Also, that park idea sounds like a winner. Open air, and also less clean up for the hostess. Larry F

Happy Birthday Kate, It's sounds nice but it is just a little to long of a drive for me. I am in Ottawa, Ontario. Thanks, Deimos.

Kate, I'll be there. What can I bring? I'd suggested potluck before. Also, Steve Cooper said that if we let him know, perhaps a couple of "Curious Lab Rats" can come up and show off what they are working on. A couple of the forumites were hoping for September, but since our weather is nice we can plan for later gatherings once we get started. Happy Birthday, indeed! Thanks, Carolly

Oh wonderful, Carolly! I'm dying to meet you. :) As for what to bring, any side dish would be fine. Or even just a bag of chips. Oh it would be so cool to have Steve or someone stop in. So far it's just me, you, Jim and maybe Spike if he's not working, but two artist friends and a photographer will be here and I've been trying to get them "converted" to CG. wink Let me know if you need directions. Kate, I will need directions, although I know where Richmond is (my storage unit is up there), people might arrest me if I walked up and down the streets calling for a shrew. My email is hauksdottir@earthlink.net Which Jim? JimX and James Schoen are both interested, but I'm not sure if this weekend is good for either of them. Many artists are converted to CG as soon as they learn about the "undo" button. I use permanent pigments, and there is no gloom like knowing that glaciers will come and go before you can get the wrong color removed from a painting which is almost finished, and almost perfect. Let's see if I can rustle up some brownies. Carolly

JimX but he probably won't be able to stay long. Schoen is still moving,if I remember correctly. Brownies would be great. Directions are on the way. Kate
