Hi all, we are interested in buying the two characters Mike and Vickie from 3d-daz. Our question is: Do we need special clothing-packs for them? Can we use the standard clothings at Poser (perhaps with some modifactions)? What is different to the standard p4-models (except the face morphs)? Thanks for information. Cheers Matthias

hoi Matt, from what I understand the "standard P4 clothes" are supposed to fit Vicky 2. both models use different geometry than the P3/P4 figures... as a result conforming clothing, not made for them, fits strangely to say the least 8 ) there's a number of sites that have clothing specifically for Mike and Vicks, as well as for Posette & the dude [P3/4 fem&male] in the geom area.. both mike and vicks have different parts and separations.. for example teh chest is divided up differently to give a more "realistic" bending to it many of the joints were re-worked to bend smoother etc... inthe Texture area, both use large format textures for the face and body.. which are separate textures.. again .. for a more realistic appearance.. I'm certain others more knowledgeable will chime in with corrections and more info for ye 8 ) Cheers

you get also one character with new vicky head on poser4woman body, so you can use all p4fem stuff out there. there is also a mikehead on dork body somewhere as freestuff. (you must buy mike still...) there are loads of morphs that come along with both, but if you are using vicky&mike as a whole, you'll have to buy clothes for them.

P4 Male clothing won't fit Michael. Victoria 2 from Daz includes Vicki2P4 - in other words, a Victoria-based model that will take P4 female clothing. I'm basically only a hobbyist with Poser and the cost of both Victoria and Mike did make me hesitate. All you get is the models and CR2. No textures, no hair, no clothing...you have to obtain all those separately. But, believe me, they're worth every penny. I never use the P4 male any more, and only occasionally use Posette. The range of things you can do with the Daz models, the sheer versatility especially of Vicky 2 is stunning if all you're used to is the P4 models. What is different? Everything, almost. There are loads more morphs and dials, the models are more realistic and can be moved and posed in many different ways. The P4 characters, no matter how hard you work on them, will always retain the same look: body shape, face and so on. There are things about Mike and Vicky you can't change, but so much more you can. Just look at the different characters you find in the Poser gallery here. The additional cost need not be great (if you can resist the temptation of the marketplace, that is). There are plenty of free textures out there for Vicky, fewer for Mike, but they are there. Kozaburo's hair is free (incredible quality) and easy to scale for Victoria if it's not made for her, and a couple of his styles look good on Mike, too, with a little work. yours Eirian.

My opinion: I have Mike, Vicky 2 & the clothing packs for them, Mike & Vic were well worth the money. The clothing packs were not, I'm waiting patiently for Mike 2, so he can wear the P4 clothes. The few items of clothing that you can get for free are much better than the ones I bought. If you want to spend the money, start with Vicky 2. Get free stuff and a poserworld subscription (for $35 you get 3 months to go download crazy) Once you have mastered Vicky, go for mike, you might even get lucky and there will be a Mike 2 by then. You may want to wait for Mike 2, as it's cheaper to go straight to the second edition rather than the original & an upgrade.

Actually, Mike sucks, pretty much. He's a good model, but even Vicki 1 had more morphs than he does. And you CAN get different looks with the poser 4 man and woman if you try and are a bit patient. Look through my gallery at Kedikai and Kitai. Granted, they look similar to each other, but I doubt there's another poser 4 man character that looks like that.

Hi fellows, thanks for all the good advice! Yesterday we had our first contact with Vickie. Man, now we know, where all these 'Emmas' 'Trudies' 'and so on honeys' are coming from. Just trying to modify the eyebrow is an absolutely hard act (... so much buttons and controls for the head...) Our disappointment: No textures like you promised! At least Matthias, being in a generous mode, ordered the texture from DAZ (... he is the one with the big salary..). I'm not very satisfied with this textures so my question: Are there any more textures outside (perhaps for free). We checked the Free Stuff and are not sure, whether all this textures are compatible to Victoria 2. Greetings to Shadowcat: With your help, we are of the same opinion (now!) and we'll waiting for Mark II... Mike 2.0. Regards to you all Daniel + Matthias (absent, because he is joining a meeting with IBM, this poor one...)

I know what you mean about modifying Vicky being hard. All those dials are daunting at first. But it's so much fun watching what they do! And the possiblities for character creation are endless. There are plenty of free textures for Vickie. Look in the Millie/Vicky section in freestuff. Victoria 1 and 2 take the same textures, and "Millie" is just another name for Victoria. That confused the heck out of me at first! You could also check out the marketplace here. Some of the textures are very reasonably priced, and there's a far wider choice than Daz offers. yours Eirian
