Hello Everyone, Sorry for all the newbie questions, but I AM really learning from all this info.... I am now able to make a gray square things with holes in them... I'm very proud (Just kiddin'around ;) .. I'll actually have another image to post this weekend :) I've been playin' with Volumetric selections for atmospheres and materials, but I don't get it... Why and (maybe) when would I want to use Volumetric selections instead of the regular materials? Thanks very much, John

heyas; you want volumetric materials mainly if you want light beams showing in your scene. volumetric materials will also appear more dimensional when placed on a primitive. normal materials only appear on the faces of the primitive, with empty space inside them. unfortunately, it doesnt seem to be possible to fly into a volumetric material (or place the camera inside one), due to the fact the volumetrics seem to be one-sided. go figure. :)

Hey John, ask all the questions you like. We're very fond of gray square things with holes in them. :)
