I need to find some good tutorials. I need to know how to make realistic shorelines and Islands. I'm having trouble making them look real whre the land meets and goes under the water. Any help would be appreciated. kaom

This site has some good info also, unfortunatly the app is no longer available. Check the links for some wave-info with grayscale images (you can always draw them in Illustrator or a paint program anyway): http://www.hknot.com/wavesworld/

Thanks for the links guys, I've pretty much got the wave thing down pretty good, I have even doen a turorial on making waves with KPT 3's gradient designer myself. I just need to know jaw to make the area going into the water look more real. The Islend pictures a few threads back looked really good, but I want to be able to do some close up shots, if you know what I mean. That Waves World program looked pretty interesting, too bad it's no longer available. I've check out all these links but I havn't found a tutorial on going exactly what I'm after. I saw some a long time ago, but I can't for the life of me remember, or find them now. Thanks, kaom If anyone knows where to find them, I'll be very grateful!

Hi I am currently working on a river/stream scene for sleepy hollow. I am very fervently trying to create a convincing appearance of the waterline between the stream and the land. I understand what it is you are looking for and also understand the problems. Assuming I can do it, I will make a tutorial about it. But so far, without making a lot of duplicate objects, I have failed miserably. but, if it can be done...I will find a way. I will probably have offer what I have thus far and ask the community for additional ideas...and even then, I see this as a problem. The various "lines" and texture linearity are proving to be a problem..in the extreme. Anyhow, within a month...I hope to have this solved for everyone...one way or another. later BT
