Is there a way to fix the white part on her stomach or is this just a flaw? Will I have to do it in the post work? Also, why doesn't her sides line up? I am fairly new to Bryce. This character is Carly. Thanks.

I'll take a stab at it. Sometimes Poser exports "extra" body components that aren't visible in Poser. For example you may get an extra abdomen area. So not only do you get nasty bits sticking out here and there but the texture doesn't map properly. My first suggestion would be to look at your list of meshes and see if you have some dupes. Ctrl-clicking (on a Mac) in the area will produce a pop-up window of all the pieces under your cursor. Select them one at a time and see if the offending object is one of them. Hide it and rerender to see if you got the right one.

Need more information to in order to fully pin point your problem is this a OBJ or DXF or some other format.

redneckintn posted Tue, 21 August 2001 at 11:32 AM

It's an OBJ file exported from Poser.

never had that before, to me it looks like you have ungrouped the mesh and moved the hip or stomache accidently.

Pervers, that's what it looks like, but then I reimported it and got the same thing.

I own the carlytexture by dalinise myself and had a look. on your texture there is a tattoo on the stomache, not on mine.is it possible that a second group or mat was created to apply the tattoo?which is made invisible in poser but not in bryce?except the tattoo?I have imported vicky with the carlytextures very often in bryce without any probs. maybe it could also be something with the lacepanties she is wearing.maybe they are made of a bigger mesh and some parts of the meshes are made invisible

That is strange, Pervers. I load the carly character and I get the tattoo. I've never done anything to enhance it. I'm going to play with it some more. Thanks for all the help.

I've had the same problem, and rbanzai has the right idea. The problem may have to be fixed back in Poser though. Bryce groups any mesh parts with the same name into one mesh. Select any part of it will delete both pieces. Poser doesn't have a reliable way to pick the parts, so one might have to start with a fresh poser model and reapply textures and dials.

Actually that's not quite right; Bryce groups any meash parts with the same MATERIAL name attached to the same figure unless you tick the topmost box in the Poser .obj export dialogue. Since many props are textured with something called "Preview" they will be bunched together. If you have a figure with two props parented and two props not parented Bryce will read these four items as two meshes. It took me ages to work this out. Either you have to export the obj using exact figure names (in which case all body parts will be separate meshes, yuk) or you can change some of the material names using the grouping tool on Poser.
