I was just wondering if anyone could possibly make me some materials for my Poser Smart and Megahair to use with Vue 2, 3 and 4 in exchange for the hair themselves? I have Vue 2 myself but as I'm now running on Windows 2k I can't use it anymore (sob), but thought that it'd be a nice touch to add to the free stuff section for anyone whose having troubles getting the transparancies etc right. I'm also looking for someone to do Bryce 3 and 5 as well, although I'm probably looking in the wrong place here , I can do Bryce 4 myself - if I can force myself to reinstall it after using Vue! Alla, are you talking about textures, or procedural materials?

Hi Mike :) Just poser textures and trans maps, there are several for each hairdo but I think one will suffice and people will be able to just exchange the texture maps once they have the material in front of them. Alla

Oops, well that leaves me out... I can't do a hair texture to save my life! Although I have made a few decent procedural materials for hair in Vue that don't rely on texture maps. Trouble with that though is, I always do them on the spot, and never save, since they usually only work or look good in very specific camera angles and lighting.

Alla, if the textures and transmaps work in Poser, they'll also work in Vue, so I think making a separate file would become redundant. The Poser file can be exported by the user as OBJ or 3DS (for Vue 3.1) or saved as a PZ3 for Vue 4. :)

Thanks both of you :) I was just remembering the problems that I had getting trans maps to look right when I first got hold of Vue 2 :p Now I'm going to slink off back to the poser forum, the sight of all these lovely Vue 4 renders is making my teeth ache, seeing as how I can't afford to upgrade yet! We'll keep our fingers crossed for you getting Vue 4 soon. :) Well....toes crossed. Having crossed fingers makes it very hard to type! =:o

Greg Hess (RedDog) has created a tutorial for how to use trans maps for Poser hair. It is for Vue 2.1, 3.1 and 4. On his place, have a look at NEW TUTORIALS :)Guitta
