The dll file is called Avifil32.dll . Has anyone ever had problems with this? The error messagebox also mentioned ntdll.dll. These files were finally found by me in the system folder under windows.

Check to make sure that there is a Path statement in your config.sys pointing the system to window/system directory.

Do I open config.sys with notepad and make the change? How do I make a correct path statement. Thanks so much for helping. I will check my mail again in 5 hours.

Did you happen to install Office 200 by any chance? If not, when did you first get this error from poser? -JH.

Typo. That was supposed to say Office 2000.

I friend of mine installed O2K on windows98 and it messed up Poser's ability to create animated movie files. He had to reinstall WIN98. -JH.

Thanks Jeff H. No, it wasn't office 2000. It was lightwave that caused the problem, as I found out later. I need to reinstall WIndows, it seems. Can I do this without taking out the other programs on my laptop?
