I've been searching on how to make a darn moon in Bryce 5 and I can't do it! I've set the sky to black, went into the Sky Lab and played with all the settings and still no moon or sun in the sky, only the light of it. What am I doing wrong?

With certain skys depending on the camera placement the moon will show. But you can also create a sphere and go into the materials editor, put a dot in the first row in the diffuse column, then click the P in the little window next to it then the pinkish button above it.Another window appears and just click one of the squares and load a moon map that you can download here or I found another more realistic one but cant remember where I got it.bromyaur posted Mon, 27 August 2001 at 3:01 PM

And heres the window you get when you click the pinkish button above the P. Also while looking for that other moon texture I stumbled across this tutorial for creating a moon.rockjockjared posted Mon, 27 August 2001 at 4:24 PM
Hold down ctrl and double click on the sun...then hold ctrl+alt and double click where you want the sun/moon to be in your scene. A little asterisk will appear, render the scene, a bada bing! The sun or moon...you can edit the look in the skylab. Jared

Actually I found it's Ctrl + Alt + Shift for the moon. Or Just Ctrl + Alt For the sun. This works nicely if you make the custom sky and make everything black...then make a cloud plane...makes a very nice night time sky.

Yes I had a nice black sky with some wispy clouds and a few stars here and there. But no matter how I changed the settings all I got was a colored horizon or the moon way up in the upper left hand corner. I had tried changing the camera angle, the sky, the sky lab, etc. I was just about to go nuts! Thanks for the help you guys. :) That worked.
