O.K., so I'm kinda new to this 3D stuff. But I don't understand why I would get this great program, FREE, with Carra, but it comes with no manual. They tell me it only comes when you buy the boxed version. Why would I buy it if I already own it. Can I get the manual? No bookstore carries it. Any help would be appreciated.

lightwave, photoshop, oreo's...tools of the trade.

Your right. It doesn't come with a printed manual. However, there is a complete HTML manual within the Amapi documentation folder on the CD ;-)

Litst is correct. When I ordered the Carrara upgrade they told me I could buy the Amapi printed manual for $20 or $25, something like that.

You might check out the Amapi forum, also. They were doing some tutorial-type stuff over there (do a search for "finger exercises", I think that's what they were called.
