I still haven't been able to make the Poser horse reach the ground and graze. I've messed with the joints and everything I could come up with but it just wont work. I have Poser 4.03. Is this possible in 5? If so, does someone have a picture of it? I don't need to buy 5 if this is not possible. Regards, Tiny

Is there a Poser 5? You can maybe try scaling the leg length down a tad till the horse mouth touches the floor or make the neck a tad longer. rodpanther

Poser 5 is not out yet, the current release is 4.03.

Yeah, alas, Poser 5 is still in the future. I sure wish I knew what it will contain. There was such a jump between 2 and 3. There were only a few improvements between 3 and 4. I can only imagine what 5 might have in it. A better baby, I hope. Unless DAZ is planning a Millennium baby that looks human. The one in 4 looks like a Roswell experiment gone bad. What's with the swollen eyes, anyway? But I digress.... Sorry, TinyLady, I guess we'll all have to wait for Poser 5. Curious Labs isn't giving us much of a clue when it will be released or what's in it. Melanie

Yes - that's in fact a hard one to pose - It looks very strange when you try to do that ...

I know nothing about horses, but I just couldn't resist trying.... When I superimpose the Poser horse over your picture, it appears that the real problem is in the Poser horse's neck, not the legs. When I change the ZScale parameter on both neck parts and head to about 122% -- and then fiddle with the Taper on all three parts to compensate -- the horse can reach the ground. Also, try bending the chest forward to about 10 degrees, and bend the shoulder joints of the front legs to compensate. Again, I don't have any understanding of horses, so this shift in posture and scale may be impossible, but it looks okay to my naive eyes.

I'm not really sure but I know that Daio has done many poses for the horse and all are very accurate. Try doing a search in Free stuff for her and see if there are any relevant files.

Actually, I'm working on Supermodel Horse, but it is sort of on the backburner right now. There are so many things that don't work very good on the horse it is going to be a major re-do. I gather no-one does much with a lot of the Poser animals, the cat, for example has bad seams in the chest that are too open for Poser to weld. The horse's mesh is sort of weird too, the default pose is really strange, the toes (actually, i guess they are hooves!) are pointed down, if I remember. I also wanted to do a poseable (better than it is, anyway), tail and mane, the current mane is pretty awful. I was hoping (hopeing?) to just make the mesh better (ah-la Supermodel Vickie) and no do anything on the CR2, but that is out the door. The UV Mapping isn't so good either (wastes space on the map), to add to the list of woes!

Well, I have to try again. The most important is not to give up.... I guess. I'll try your suggestions Ockham. Tiny

hey, one thing you need to do is to move the front legs, if you will notice the horse moves its front legs to lower its front end down a little, the real horse also has the ability to bend on the top part of the neck more than the poser horse but I did get it to resemble a grazing position by moving the front legs, bending the neck down the moving the head it is different with the different horses too charger and regular...
