What software is best for tiling textures? I have been tiling in CorelDraw then converting to JPEG in Photoshop 4, but the result is very low resolution. What do the great artists out there use to produce satisfactorily tiled textures?

I just did my first one with Picture Publisher 8. It has a fill tool and I selected an image to fill with and it tiled it. PP8 was available for $45 and while not a great paint prog and weak with layers, is very strong with web graphics and photo/image editing. Painter 6 looks to be very strong and has tools for producing seamless tiles, including the ability to paint off one side and have the brush come in on the other side of a tile in production..

Don't know which version of Corel Your using, but as for version 8 you can export your pattern straight from Corel as a JPEG choosing you resolution and picture quality when you export.

Well, Ive been using CorelDraw 7, but you have now nailed the answer. I was saving the file as a JPEG instead of exporting it. As you say, exporting offers choices of resolution. Issue resolved. Many thanks. (Thanks also to Jaager for your response.)
