I have Poser 3. What is the man called who appears when I start Poser? He is not the same man as in ...charactersTutorialTutorial Man.cr2

I find that the figureResFile lines in the abovementioned Tutorial Man and Tutorial Dog's .cr2 files point to :Runtime:Geometries:newMaleBizHi:newMaleBizHi.obj and :Runtime:Geometries:dogHi:dogHiP3.obj , i.e. they are merely the Businessman and Dog renamed. But where then is the geometry for the man who appears when Poser 3 starts?

I'm not 100% certain what you mean here Anthony. Do you mean the nude male figure that appears as a default figure when Poser 3 has started? It's been quite a while since I've used P3 (it came off of my system about a week after P4 went on) but I seem to recall that it's just the standard P3 nude male. If I've got the wrong end of the stick, and you mean a different figure, let me know Paul

When my Poser 3 starts I don't get a nude, I get a man with brown trousers and a maroon shirt or sweater with sleeves as far as his elbows, and he hasn't got separate jointed parts for his finger joints, or for his eyeballs, or for the toe parts of his feet. - After all this talk of Poser 4 bugs. if I get Poser 4 or its successor, then my Poser 3 is staying on my PC also until its replacement has really fully proved itself safe!

Somewhere I'd read that it is a poser 2 figure put there just as a default "place holder" so the program loads more quickly. I don't have the reference unfortunately. But that's what I recall reading. Hope that helps somehow.

heya; yeah, the default guy is a p2 guy. (thought he was nude, though.) at any rate, get rid of him, and put in the figure you use most (or no figure), then save your preferred startup state. then it will open with that figure. (or no figure, which is what i have it set to. now THAT starts FAST! ;D )
