i have been a member here for a while just looking at all the wonderful works on here.i have in a small way dicovered photography and thought it was about time i joined in.i might have a go at the monthy competition but i am a little confused as to the size of image to submit.72 pixels per inch? can someone tell me what resolution that would be (eg:600 x 400) as i am a digi cam user. i am a bit of a nature snapper so i put in this pic for you comments.so a big hello to all and i hope to be getting more involved in the future and willing to learn a lot more along the way

DPI vs resolution. Always confues me as well. You picture seems fine. However, as a person who has been told to post larger pictures I would suggest increasing the abouve picture to twice as large if possible. You can also determine your pictures resolution in many art programs by requesting information for the image. Photoshop allows you to change the DPI and resolution, and PSP 6 allows you to change the resolution. OH and welcome aboard. Bsteph

Hi Wierdstop, and welcome! Maybe the 1024 images were going just over the 200k limit? If you use PhotoShop, just dive into the Image>resize option and change the dpi in there - but don't forget to 'Save As' so you keep the original!! (Sorry if you know this, but I've made that very mistake a couple of times even recently....) Anyways, hope you enjoy it here, and we look forward to seeing those entries!! Mike (",)
