greets all got a general "preference" and "usablility" question for those of you that model alot. after creating a model..assuming you export it to a render program...do you prefer to use triangles or quadrangles in your final model? I threw these two models together with the latest trial of amapi to decide if I want to get it, and finally I can get quadrangles out (which I prefer). also..if ya have a couple quad vs tri picts of the same model, Id like to see them. oh, yeah..and for animation..which is better? quad or tri? I noticed that all the models I have seen wireframes of (final fantasy for instance) used quad. thanx BT

For animation, I don't think it matters too much when it comes down to the actual animating. People like quads because they're easier to see and deal with when you need to edit the model later on. Triangles tend to get complex and complicated. Again, it's all a matter of taste.

I have to agree with Teyon,, quads are a bit easier to handle cause triangles tends to effect one and another alot more than quads do,, but as for my own preference i have to say,, again,, its all about what you are trying to create,, triangles can be very useful when you want to achice wrinkles and such like,, while on the other hand quads offten looks more "smooth" on a complex object only my personal experience ,, so i'd say, quads vs. triangles?,, well,, its all a matter of what you are trying to achive :-) just my 2 cents
