Here is a bit more of my bird. The wings are following the same design style. Each wing is made of but one "feather" which is a long narrow ellipsoid type shape. All the rest are duplicates, added first in the horizontal plane, then to the rear, all duped and layered vertically. The tail is one wing that has been tapered and scaled, then mirrored. Been playing with variations of Brycetech's style of displacement mapping. Hair is a natural for this technique. Feathers though has been a bit of a hassle. Believe i have something that might be usuable, and letting it render on out, will post the result (for good or bad...hahaha...) tomorrow. Not a great model, but just interesting because of how few actual shapes were used. Best.
