The above figure is currently under production for addition to either the Renderosity Marketplace or the DAZ3D Brokered Artists program (I haven't decided which yet) The goal was to use a series of magnets to create a realistic, muscular character for Michael, that could be used in the creation of everything from wrestlers to superheros. The above image shows his current progress, which includes the upper body morphs (I am currently at work perfecting the morphs for Michael's back muscles and his legs). Texture shown is [Edo](/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=3537) by [StefyZZ](/softgood.ez?Who=StefyZZ) with a custom facial morph. Because of the nature of these morphs, shortly after it's release, I will be releasing a clothing pack update for both of Michael's clothing packs. **Musclebound Michael** contains partial body morphs for each muscle group, and additional Full Body Morphs designed to ease the sculpting of your Musclebound figures. And, like DAZ3D's release of a Vicki2 clothing pack upgrade that uses the same FBMs and PBMs as Vicki2, the names of the morphs are adjusted to avoid crosstalking. Unique to this figure alone, are additional dials designed specifically for the sake of character distribution. Hidden within every body part of both the figure and the clothing (hands excluded), are "Reserved" morph targets, made especially for use with my [Delta Injection Technique](/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=394068) (the Head includes 9 of these), plus an additional hidden geometry switching dial within the head, upNeck, and neck, with special instructions on how to use these dials, custom Pose files, Objaction Mover, and the grouping tool, to completely regroup the material settings within the head to incorporate masks and other goodies, without fear of violating copyrights by distributing the morphs included in this package. I will not be making the magnets available, as the figure so far uses 49 magnets on the upper body alone, but any creator who wishes to add support for **Musclebound Michael** upon the release of their product can contact me through email, send me their item, and I will gladly add FULL support myself (of course, you can always just try your hand at the morphs yourself). The only "royalty fee" I'll ask for is a free copy of the completed item ;). As an added bonus, a special "Delta Injection" Pose file will be included with **Musclebound Michael**, and hidden reserved morphs will be included in any Michael based figure I release in the future. (A guide for adding these dials to your own figures will be included in the documentation). **Musclebound Michael** promises to be the ultimate in Michael character creation, portability, and distribution, and that's a promise I plan to deliver on!! WOW-definatly look forward to this guy, looks like awesome work Drax

Wizzard posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 3:42 AM

it's excellent Drax.... you've gotten the forearms done up really well.. and the rest of the musculature's fantastic... and I really like how you've redone the neck and shoulders.. I'd love to read a tute on the delta injection technique some time... like all the figures that you've done, the craftmanship shows me friend. excellent work.. and I'll be keeping my eye out for it in the stores....

DraX posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 3:48 AM

Just follow the link above where it says Delta Injection. Delta Injection does require the existance of a dial already reserved for it, however. Ron 'DraX' DeFreitas

AWESOME DRAX! You the muscle man! I hope people take advantage of your offer and we start seeing clothes that fit him!

BillyBob posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 7:46 AM

Verrrrrrryyyy nice work. Seems like another "must-have" for me.

DraX posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 7:48 AM

If not, then I'll eventually get around to converting them myself, ookami. :)

Nice! Though I opt for Renderosity, because Daz keep bouncing my card :) later jb

nfredman posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 11:34 AM

Drax, can you compare him in some meaningful way with wymmaster's Massive Mike? i mean, for those of us not up on the special morphing process, i mean. :^) Thanks-- Nan

nikitacreed posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 12:12 PM

WOW! He looks huge! Great work DraX!

Lawndart posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 1:18 PM

Musclebound Mike and Massive Mike look like completely differant dudes. This is great! I will add this guy to my library for sure. One question... Will Musclebound Mike have muscle flexing morph targets? It would be great to have these for the bicepts, tricepts, abbs, lats, calfs and upper legs? Have I asked for enough yet? :) Cheers LawnDart

Lawndart posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 1:38 PM

Oh... uh... and pecks.... he he.... Sorry.... I'm excited!!!

Cheryle posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 2:26 PM

you are talking over my head here with the technical stuff... i think i will just stare at this image and drool... wait maybe i will just make this my desktop! MUHAHAHAHAA ;) (wish you would have had genitals on tho snicker) all kidding aside- this is one fantastic looking character! Great work!

DraX posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 4:22 PM

Thanks guys. I'm not about to go into a technical comparison between this figure and MassiveMike. To those unfamialar with the technical aspects, the differences would be simply that they are built differently. They are two completely different figures, that's all. Some of you may recall the MuscleBase figure I put out through the 3D-CC a while back... that may shed some light into why I started this project. I needed a figure of similar design that I could use to transfer all of my old Poser4 figures over to Millenium figures, and since no one else had stepped forward and made one, I had to do it myself :)

Ironbear posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 4:54 PM

Pretty damn nice. Very sharp work. One question... I think this character will be primo for a base for designing the Lou Ferrigno etc types. Will the proportions and morphs have enough scalability designed in so that I can do slightly less massive muscle styles and still keep definition without distortion on the morphs, especially between body groups? I know, that may sound like a strange concern, but I'm looking at the possiblities this figure has for designing superhero characters, and the ability to keep sculpted muscle definition even when not using the morphs at full "Hulk Smash!" potential is important. ;] Thanks. Very sharp work, speaking as someone who knows how much is involved in precise magnet tweaking.

good lord, somebody lopped off his... um... erm... that just aint right ;)

DraX posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 6:33 PM

Ironbear, there are individual morphs for each specific muscle group.. biceps, triceps, pecs, etc. Maniuplation of these dials can be use to make less muscular figures with little disruption, and I plan on releasing more than one FBM on this figure, so as to cover more than one body type.

Questor posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 6:37 PM

Now Bloodsong, you know all body builders and muscle nuts always forget at least one muscle. G I might be blind but I don't think I've seen it in the blurb above. How much is he going to be? That would be a deciding factor for me.

itisitex posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 7:08 PM

Drax you have out done yourself this time and i am looking forward to getting this figure just let me know when he is released along with some clothes to fit him

Ironbear posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 7:25 PM

Coolness. Works for me. Don't get me wrong, even if he only had the ones set of FBM's and a limited range of scaleability, it'd still be awesome work. But the added versatility makes it even more attractive to me... Might have to buy this, Massive Mike and break down and buy TravisB's "Tribal" texture and have a blast... ;]

Ron that is impressive! Neal

DraX posted Wed, 26 September 2001 at 2:22 AM

MARK, I've actually got someone working on that for me :)

bloodsong posted Wed, 26 September 2001 at 11:51 AM

heyas; i'm okay, now. oh, oh, i see. too many steroids is it? ;) he looks great, drax. you know one thing i want to ask you... did you fix his ab muscles to go into his hip area? on the default michael they all kinda quit right at that seam. thats so annoying. :)

DraX posted Wed, 26 September 2001 at 12:40 PM

Well, bloodsong, I've added a little more definition to that area, but in reality, you're not going to see much more muscular tone in that area of the body from the abdominal muscles, mostly just from the oblique flanks.

Mesh_Magick posted Fri, 28 September 2001 at 11:17 PM

kOOL, Looks a little overdone but I can see how this can be a good thing for super heros.

DraX posted Sat, 29 September 2001 at 5:23 AM

cherokee69, thank you. :) I expect to be completely finished with him by the end of this coming week (beta testing included), after which I will be sending him off for testing by the broker. We're probably looking at about 2 weeks, with clothing packs 1 and 2 shortly after (which are adjustments to Clothing Packs 1 and 2 to add compatibility for this figure). Mesh_Magick, the figure will include dials for at least 3 different muscular body types.

dirk5027 posted Sat, 29 September 2001 at 8:03 AM

any chance of leather in the clothing packs, and any mailing list to be notified when he is ready, unbelievable job

DraX posted Sat, 29 September 2001 at 11:43 AM

Not at this time, dirk, sorry. The clothing packs are conversions of clothing packs 1 and 2 from DAZ, retailored to conform to Musclebound Michael. Hmmm.... mailing list... hadn't thought of that.... if you're on the mailing list notifying new products for DAZ and Rendo, you're bound to see him show up in one of them pretty soon.

leather-guy posted Sat, 29 September 2001 at 2:11 PM

DraX - Just a suggestion, but if you just post an announcment in this thread here, changing the Subject line to something like "Musclebound Michael-Avilable now!". The Ebot should notify everyone who's commented. Plus a fresh post for those who read, but didn't comment. Better than a mailing list, really. ;-) I'm looking forward to it.

SergeantJack posted Tue, 02 October 2001 at 8:56 PM

Count me in. I'd like to have some variation to Massive Mike. Drax, you have a Vicky project in mind? I hope we see some good clothes for MB Mike...that's my biggest problem with Massive.

DraX posted Wed, 03 October 2001 at 4:37 AM

Jack, I'm undecided at this time on a Victoria project.... between Vicki 2 and Voluptuous Vicki, I don't think there's much demand for a Victoria character that compliments Musclebound Michael. I could be wrong... Within probably 2 weeks after Musclebound Michael's release (or MuscleMike for short) there will be a cr2 update to Clothing Pack 1 available, with one for Clothing Pack 2 shortly thereafter.

DraX posted Wed, 10 October 2001 at 8:10 AM

Final Beta Testing has begun for Musclebound Michael. Please contact me directly for a chance to test him out.

Man, this dude is BAAAAADDDD! And I mean that in the best possible way. I'll be waiting in the Marketplace with money in hand (virtually speaking, of course.)

Xena posted Wed, 24 October 2001 at 5:27 AM

I'll happily pay for a Musclebound Victoria. VV isn't a muscle gal, just a top heavy one :) I'd like to have a girl I can muscle up like a Vallejo girl. V2 accomplishes this to a degree but she has no real definition or tone. Looking forward to your release...he's on my list of "must have's" s
