i don't know, i'm still not sattisfied with what i see. i bought also natalia/natrixa and was dissapointed for the lack of detail. and now, it looks the same with dina, she's not even good looking in small renderings like nat/nat did. for that number of polys she has definitively too little details on her body. i don't mean the possibilities, they may be vast indeed, but i still haven't seen them. as you say, there's that shoulder-neck area, that need some reworking, it's anatomically incorrect, as well as belly-ribs area. the legs looks much like rotated splines, and so on... maybe face someone likes her face, but for me, she's ugly as... and meaning not ugly as a human, just as some thrid grade drunken doc gave her worst plastic of his life.

Aleks It is just a question of morphs, just like Vicky 1 to Jim Burton's SMV and Vicky 2. it takes a little while for people to create them but they will come in freestuff and as commercial products (I am sure). It took a very long time to get Vicky 1 to even passing standards but I suspect Dina will be there much quicker. regards STORM

BTW forgot to add, the above images are not rendered or anti-aliased, they are straight from the Poser working screen.

aleks, I'm just curious, what specifically didn't you like about Natalia? She has just as much if not more detail than most other Poser figures. I've never had that complaint before. What body part(s) are you referring to? As far as Dina's anatomy goes, well, believe it or not that's what the real woman looks like. Her proportions are straight from the scan. I can assure you I am well past the third grade, and very seldom drunk, especially not when modeling. Thanks Storm, and others, who have recognized the potential in Dina. With all those polygons, I think character creators will be able to make her look like whatever they want. I can't wait.

Hm getting a bit tempted s .. even though I promised myself I would NOT buy and more "stuff" ;-) .. can you tell me about any face dials? I am no magnet wizard.. I can just about morph my way out of a paper bag on a good day.. so what can I do about her face? can I change the nose ? change the mouth ? cheeks? .. if not is there going to be added dials later? Will they cost me again or will it be an upgrade? Is there going to be a shoulder fix? Will that cost me more? All in all the joint fixes look worth the cost alone .. but I have to agree she is not the most beautiful creature out there s .. how ever given a few face dials I can certainly see the potential ..

My take on it is this, if I were going to buy Dina I would get her for the same reason I got Natalia, because she is not Vickie. But I think I will be waiting for a bit before I jump to grab this one. To be honest I saw the pics of the model she was taken from and I don't really like the shape of the real woman. You do great work dcort, but I think a lot of people were just not ready for Dina. I will probably eventually get her just because she is so unique. I don't want to morph her into another Vickie, that would defeat the purpose of getting a different model wouldn't it? 8^) Keep up the good work dcort. And Jim, as much as I love SMV's body shape I'm not really attracted to her face, but I still got her because she is so unique. Marque

hehe - she looks a little ...doughy for lack of another word. i must admit though, i like the creases along the side of her abdomen when you bend her torso - you sure that isnt postwork? nice image mazak, so far youve come closest in succeeding to make her look somewhat desirable :) if someone comes out with a really nice face morph for her i might actually buy her.

dcort, don't get me wrong, i didn't meant to insult anyone. concerning nat/nat: i wrote you already once, i think it was through yahoo's poser groups, and told you about her knees (as far as i remember) and a bit of missing details there and on other places. you told me it was because of the performance, you wanted best look with good performance. that's ok, i just didn't saw the close-ups. as marque said, she is unique, so i didn't complained, i use her just for some figures, that don't come too close. concerning dina: the first i saw her was on 'rotica (couldn't reach your site, kept getting "not available" messages) and i was almost frightened, because the first thing i saw were her genitals jumping to strike me. after that, one get an (maybe incorrect) impression, that she was build just for that purposes, namely as an exhibit for the gynecologist students. her face one can like or dislike (i still think of it as ugly - in the default morph - as well as i think that vicky2 also has that distinctive unnatural look) but it's very strong face that's hard to morph away. same problem is with p4man, it's just very hard to make him look like someone else - you always see the ol' dork. i know how normal women look like, thanks, though i never met one that look like her. i know, though, how they look after the plastic surgery, and she reminden me right away on them. maybe it's the way how that artist set her for the "shooting" at 'rotica, but i thoroghly disliked her. but as i said, it's only my opinion, and if i saw more, especially different faces, or a wireframe shot, or the list with morphs, or more pictures like above from blackharted, i'd have another opinion... so, i apologise if i offended you, it was most definitively not my purpose :-)
aleks posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 1:29 PM
now, mazak, that really looks good! my opinion about her has improved for some 50% :o) (still missing details: feet, ribs, abdomen, hands...)

dcort, after some extensive looking on dina on other pictures, i just can't believe that her shoulders are from scan. they are just not functioning like this. to round, the upper curve goes just to far out. that maybe the case for some pro swimmers, but not for an everyday-women that dina is supposed to be. and in that case she would have larger deltoids and more definition around her back and neck.
Mazak posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 1:35 PM

Mazak posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 1:52 PM
Oh Oh.. we had already a very long disscusion... Yes the devault pose is very bad... I think Dinas shoulders must 10 Degrees turn down for a better look. Dina has her own clothes (no P4,Vicky) Mazak

She (Dina) looks pretty good in the top pic! As I said before, she is a great value for the money, too - but the whole problem once you get into a figure made my scaling and morphs is - will the clothing still fit? Blackhearted - Oh my, you do nice renders of SMV!

oops, sorry to post questiones that has been answered i the other thread, i entirely missed it... i'm still puzzled, though... why use pro model, face like two months after a box fight with hollyfield, with silicon implants, body of football player and then sell it as a "average woman". that'll be hell of a work to make this face looking remotely different than this... and it's still the "money thing". she may cost "only" 30$, but we must add to this clothing, morphs, poses and textures (i know there's on with it)... guess i'll wait and see how she develops...

aleks, I think I remember your question now. Fair enough. I like Natalia's knees myself but I don't expect everyone to agree. And yes, at the time I made her I was concerned about polygon count. If I was doing Natalia over again today, I would make a higher-density mesh. As of this moment, Dina can wear only her own clothes. All of the clothing that I currently offer for Natalia is also offered in a Dina version, with the exception of my cloaks, which I hope to remedy soon. Some other people have also started to make clothing and accessories for her. I also have a corset/dress pack which will be released for Dina any day now and which will be available only for her and Natalia (Natalia version will be released sometime in the future). As for her shoulders, I don't want to keep arguing the point. She is what she is. I don't think I nor anyone at DSI has ever said Dina was supposed to be average (but then neither are most Poser women). Diane Griffith has posted a new free Dina .cr2 on Renderotica and GRC with some additional morphs to round her out and make her a little more proportional. I'm sorry if my website has been flaky. My web host has been having some trouble with viruses so sometimes dacort.com goes offline for brief periods.

Marque is right. The real person this was based on definately has a strange shape. I didn't think the shoulders were right either until I looked at the models web site. That lady has some big shoulders. Strange choice to base a figure on. But contrary to what Others say....I like her face. She's much less plastic looking than any DAZ figure I've seen so far. I like it because it's different. Why do I get the feeling we are going to see a Dina head on a P4 body in the near future? ;-) ScottA

So far I'm not a huge Dina fan; she's got that linebacker's upper body and, as so many have said, not the pixie-ish face a lot of us seem drawn to in a model. And I'm not sure what we're trying to demonstrate by morphing her into Vicky2 (but with a giant schnozz)--I already own V2 and like her very much, but the fact that Dina can be morphed into something that resembles her seems a weak selling point at best. But, I have to say this in support of Dina--she's got a pretty nice ass.
STORM3 posted Tue, 25 September 2001 at 5:11 PM
I am not selling her Mosca, I am just one very happy customer. ;0) Vicky 2 and Vicky 2 SMV are my favourite models at the moment. They pose beautifully, have lots of morphs and I love their shape. I have only one gripe with them, not enough polys to create some of the morphs I want like realistic skin creases and puppy fat rolls not to mention more highly defined musculature. So today was the first opportunity that I had time to play with Dina and I decided to test her in a very simple re-scaling experiment with Vicky 2 SMV as the goal. Having read the criticisms I decided to post my results because I really believe this model, with its huge poly count, can be anything you want, from aliens to fantasy to female types of all sorts. She could even be morphed into an ultra-realistic male figure. Now there is a thought! I have not gone near her face yet (slight dread - ;o)- ) but again the potential is there. And yea she has a superb ass! Regards STORM

Hi All! I saw this thread earlier, and was thinking about it while running errands just now. I happened to drive past a College campus, a group of a couple dozen female students who were jogging in the nearby hills. Out of the group, there were perhaps 2 who had any resemblance to SMV or even Vicky in bodytype, but I'd consider nearly all of them to be attractive in their own way. In the same way, I think Dina is a definite keeper. I see dozens of Fem Creations here & on other sites that are based on someone's fantasy Ideal. They all start to look alike pretty fast. I like some genuine variation. Lends an illusion of reality to a scene. I looked into buying Dina the other night at Rendererotica, actually had her & several accy products in my shopping cart, but had to jump to another site before I checked out to chk something I got in an EMail; when I came back, I found my cart was empty. (Guess I'm spoiled by the way Renderosity's cart retains products as long as you want) I'm still planning on buying Dina, but probably not until this weekend, when I have time to re-build the selection of items I want. Question; Can anyone tell me how does Dina stack up as regards to expressions? I'm hoping that with a higher poly count, she can manage more than Victoria 2. Try as I might , there are some emotions Vic just can't display. For the price, Dina has definite potential.

Marque, I have two character/textures available for Natalia in thegrc.com store. I also did two sets of styles/textures for her clothing pack, which give you a bunch of different looks. The textures will work on any of the basic clothing packs, Vicki's, Natalia's, Posette's, Dina's, but the cr2's to set the styles will only work on Natalia's. Diane

Marque, Diane's characters and textures for Natalia are excellent. DMentia's Blossom is also excellent. Tammy's Megan character for Natalia is awesome, and in addtion to the character/texture comes with some great light sets for Poser. Ingrid of Handspan Studios offers Lorelei for Natalia, which includes textures not only for Natalia but for the Crimson mermaid tail as well. Lorelei is the most radically altered Natalia I have seen yet, very cute and completely unlike the stock Natalia. There may be another one or two that is escaping me a the moment, but all the above are absolutely top-notch.
