Subject: Pinhole on paper....for bsteph2069 and others

Found some of my old CRAPPy pinhole images. These were mainly done for experimental purposes. Here are the results. Keep in mind that these were done with a sloppy pinhole camera, ANYONE can make a better one than I did.

I first began by just using my pinhole and some Kodak color paper (supra II...something) I apparently had rated this particualr paper at 16iso....no idea of what exposure time....I bet it was long (If I remeber right, the aperature of my camera was a very unclean f/32)

I then wanted to see if I could get a decent color positive image. no real success. the natural orange cast of the paper was too strong to remove in photoshop. Note nice sloppy light leaks.....a pinhole shouldn't be rushed btw.

Now I got serious....I'm indoors this time (too windy in Montana in the winter). For this attempt I got the idea to use a blank frame (shot with the lens cap) of a piece of 35mm color film as a "filter".There is still an orange cast, but the other "negative" colors are more appearant this time. +/- f/32 @ iso16 1 minute 33 seconds.

Now in photoshop....invert......voila!

That still sucks, but with few quick clicks in the levels.....and presto! pure ART. What a pain.....Actually Pinhole is very cool. Just don't be sloppy like me. carefully choose what f/stop and ange of view you want your camera to have. Mine was very wide angle. You can make one out of just about anything. Actual film works very well also. Large format sheet film is easiest to handle. OH YES! you can also make a pinhole camera out of your existing camera. Just make a pinhole plate that you can secure over the lens mount (no lens on of course) you get the idea.

I like the cup....and the imagination.....Im with Slynkster, I want to try this, any good instructions on doing this?
