I used to work on miniguns in the military and I can tell u that the ammo is fed into the back section that little tube that sticks out of the side on your model it's called a feeder and ammo is fed in through that and into the bigger gun housing chambers the shot out the barrels. There is a chute that looks like a bunch of linked [_] Where the ammo is fed through. I know this may sound strange but if you need more then I can even give you some detailed pics too. I worked on many small arms including miniguns 50 cals m-9 ect....

Might try Jane's for reference photo's. The Jane's books are expensive, but most public libraries will have a full selection, and you can photocopy the images you need. Accurate firearms photos are a bit hard to find on the web for specific models at times - a lot of websites will only have views from one angle.

the problem is: there are many weapons, u can hardly find. e.g. the h&k g11. It is the most accurate and powerful submashinegun on earth, because it uses 3,4mm ammo and 50shot mag. without any non-jack. it should be the standard-rifle for the german-army, but there were copyrightproblems (doesn't matter). The fact is, if you work hard, you'll probably find 2-3 pics on the inet.

Like I said... Library, Jane's "All the World's Small Arms". The 1986-87 volume [or maybe 88-89, too lazy to hit my bookshelf] has multiple views of the Hk G-11 caseless, much better detail than I've seen in net photos. [Actaully not the most powerfull in it's class - the 4.7mm caseless round it uses is a bit less punch than the 5.56mm, but it's more compact and allows a lot more rounds for the same weight and volume]

For sure, 5.56mm rifles are more powerful, but they are less accurate. I've seen a study, showing that the g11 increases the aiming ability extremely. thx for the books name, i'll look for it.

Yeah, more ergonomic overall. Still, no assault weapon can match the accuracy of a good scoped bolt action .223 [that's the 5.66mm in civies]. We're talking combat accuracy which is a completely differnt animal. Military rifles are designed to [hopefully] let a recruit put steel on target with a minumum amount of highly expensive training... Rate of fire on the G-11 is higher than any other comparable small arm until you get into the mini-gun class. Thing is like a 4.7mm buzzsaw at 2200 rounds per minute mean burst rate.

Btw... I still think that's a pretty nice mini-gun model you have going there. ;] Kudos.

chuckle Nice... but I'd hated to of ever of been within a hundred meters of something THAT bright with hostile people shooting things in our direction. Can you just imagine the sun glinting off of that thing in jungle? ;0 GE M134? Earlier version of that's what they used to hang off of Cobra gunships. And still hang in a lot of helicopter door mounts in various parts of the world. I don't off the top of my head remember what the designation of the little 5.56mm version of that is.
