In the MAYA thread someone asked about the Mastering MAYA book and someone replied that the library could order it and U could get it for free. Is this true???

depends on the library, you should probably go to your local one and ask.

Don't know where I'd be without public libraries. I always check the shelves before I buy a book and browse the computer section routinely. Mine has begun to have them for high-end programs. Found one for Flash5 with a CD before I even knew there was an upgrade. Ask if yours can do inter-library loans (might be a token fee). If your local doesn't have much, see if there's a central or regional one to check out.

Hi, Well, if you're willing to put in a little effort you can usually find the CD-Roms's that come with many books, (often carrying the complete text) mounted on a publicly available web server somewhere, (strangely enough, often as not, in Romania :) I have the complete set of O'Reiley "bookshelf" CD's as bookmarks so that I can check stuff up should the need arise, and I've seen photoshop books, etc. available too :) later jb
